A very nice Chevelle indeed. I just arrived home from a local cruise night. As typically is the case, out of 147 cars there were 2 Montes there...mine and a 72. There were at least 10 68-71 Chevelles. The rarity of our Montes is one of the many thi

Thanks! I've seen those conversion kits and I may go that route. I'm installing this Friday before heading out to Carlisle. My old alternator sounds like a Cuisinart.

Hey Jim, That is a great looking Chevelle but that one would be a shame to part out just to make a Monte Convertible....... My Monte took a 1970 Chevelle Convertible that WAS seriously hurt during testing......:) Darren.

$3000 Leo, Thats all? Heck I've heard of used ones going for almost $2k. $500 is a fair price on an NOS hood, taking the dent is not to bad. There was a dented fender at the Autofair for $700.

But like said it would have been easier to just install the parts from the over the counter parts, instead of totally take apart to interiors in to brand new cars. I'm going to say an oops on the assembly line.

I went from a Small Block to a Big Block in my 70. The front prob dropped about an Inch if that. This is how it sits with the 454 in it.

I have tuned my Motors by ear and a vacuum gage. I don't have top dollar engines so a timing light does not do me any good. I do own a timing light though.
